A single gunman with numerous weapons is dead today as Federal and local authorities in Chattanooga, Tennessee investigate what a US attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee called “acts of domestic terrorism.”
Around 11 AM EDT, shots were fired at a military recruitment center in one area of Chattanooga before the gunman headed to a Navy building nearby where four were killed. Three other people were also wounded, included a police officer who was shot in the ankle and a US Navy sailor. The gunman. 24-year-old Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, a local from Hixson, Tennessee, is also dead although the cause of his death has not yet been noted. Abdulazeez’s father was born in the tense area of Israel and Palestine known as the West Bank, and his mother was from Kuwait.
Chattanooga Shooting Witnesses Recount Barrage of Gunfire
While I often use the charts I’ve found in Carolyn Dodson’s Horoscopes of the US States and Cities based on the times and locations, there have been a few charts I’ve felt were less than accurate and would have been what I’d call “fudged.” Nevertheless, I’ve used the data with noon charts for these locations to offer some frame of reference. With that in mind, I’m offering the city chart on the outside with an eye to that noon time she has used in most of the other charts and not based on GMT where the charts seemed to have been skewed for some reason.
I used the 11 am time reported as the first round of shots that lasted approximately 20 minutes. The 4/8/12 complex of houses reveals Pluto’s presence in the 4th with the city chart’s Mercury Retrograde (Rx)-Sun conjunction also in this house. In the 8th, we see the city’s Pluto Rx still very much in square to the event chart’s Pluto, bringing to mind one of the facets of what I call the Life Cycles Crisis transits. Now here, we can no longer chalk this up to what some call “midlife crisis” in individuals and look to determine the role this square plays in the event itself. While transiting Uranus in the 8th house is still conjunct the city’s natal Pluto, the conjunction tightens that ongoing square to the event’s Pluto and serves as a double arm to form a Cardinal T-square with the transiting Pluto 41-minute opposition to transiting Mars and its 39-minute partile conjunction to Mercury.
Such a dynamic seems to be intended as a warning shot that hopefully doesn’t need to be spelled out. But the 11th house Sun in the transiting chart–still within orb of the New Moon although the Moon made ingress to Leo just within an hour or so before this attack took place–is also tied in to creating a stellium with Mars and Mercury in square to Uranus. As a sidenote, it also bears mentioning that the Mars-Pluto opposition midpoint falls at 14 Libra 22’30, a mere 0°01’30 from the Lunar Eclipse of April 4! Compounding that, even without Saturn making an undecaquartisextile to the Midheaven (MC) since we aren’t sure of the exact time, we still have three undecaquartisextiles with the Moon to Pluto and then two partiles, one with a 4-minute orb between that formed by the Jupiter-Neptune aspect and the other with Uranus forming one to the North Node (NN) with a mere minute of orb to spare! The undecaquartisextile from the Moon to Pluto points to the likelihood that Abdulazeez had been seeking some kind ego gratification and recognition for his act while the Jupiter-Neptune undecaquartisextile points to a possibility that he was looking to be recognized through martyrdom. It seems he wasn’t expecting to live as a result of these acts. Recognition appraently was his main objective. Even the Uranus-NN aspect pointed to that.
In the 12th house, still forming a conjunction, Jupiter and Venus complete the 4/8/12 complex to this chilling tale. Is it really ironic that the city chart also has a Venus-Jupiter conjunction, and this one happens to be partile within 16 minutes? No coincidences…
Take note that the city chart’s natal Pluto opposes the Uranus Solstice Point (Antiscia) within two minutes while the Saturn in the city chart’s Solstice Points makes a partile conjunction to transiting Pluto and opposes transiting Mars in the shooting chart. Meanwhile, the Mars Solstice Point in the transiting chart makes a partile opposition to the city’s Saturn.
The Solstice Point for transiting Pluto at 11 am EDT was at 15 Sagittarius 58, making a partile 52-minute conjunction to the IC. Irreversible changes… The pièce de résistance? Take a look at that 13-minute partile conjunction of transiting Neptune to the city’s North Node!
By the time the US Navy had posted its tweet, at 12:24 PM, the Midheaven of the chart had made a partile conjunction to the US Sun, regardless of whether we use the now generally accepted Sibly chart or one of the other plethora of US national charts out there. (I don’t begrudge a soul here, but I keep hoping we’ll discover an accurate time rather than rectification. Yes, I can dream…) Also conjunct the MC was that now pronounced 14-minute partile Mars-Pluto opposition in square to Chattanooga’s natal Pluto and that transiting 7th house placement of Uranus. Take note as well that the Uranus Solstice Point at this time was now at 9 Virgo 32 in a 1-minute partile opposition to transiting Neptune. This latter point shows in the charts John Davenport so generously provided above.
“Lives have been lost from some faithful people who are serving our country,” said Governor Bill Haslam of Tennessee.
Now, for one last look, consider as well, the city chart, and focus this time on the events today placed outside. The arm of the T-square in this case places both the city’s Pluto and transiting Uranus inside the first house interception and shifts the transiting Mercury-Mars conjunction in the 4th house, transiting Pluto in the 10th, and the city’s Moon in the 4th house in an out of sign conjunction to the IC. From this angle, we see the development of another 4/8/12 complex transiting series with Mercury-Mars in the 4th, Saturn in the 8th and transiting Neptune in the 12th, obviously still conjunct the North Node as well as Neptune in its conjunction to natal Uranus.
And as a point of interest since this was an ongoing event, take note of the 2-minute partile semi-sextile between the natal Moon and the transiting Moon when the Navy posted its tweet.
CBS-TV reports that by 1:30 pm, “Chattanooga police said the active shooting that apparently took place at two military facilities was over.” May those who died today rest in peace, and those who were injured have a quick recovery.
