Please note: In 2015, long after I wrote this article, my understandings of the quindecile, a 24° aspect, were born out of the new–mathematically accurate–name for the 165° aspect, now called undecaquartisextile. Please read about the Undecaquartisextile as its related aspect patterns which can be found in the Pluto – Full On series. You’ll find the Pluto – Full On series under the subcategory of Undecaquartisextile, located in the Feature Articles tab. Thanks for your patience with the modification of the name.
CNN News aired a live video from Beirut on Sunday evening. Thanks to the time displayed as the reporter spoke, I was able to create a chart for 5:00 pm EEDT with relative certainty that it was quite accurate for the time the “You Stink” protests had apparently begun.
With Pluto sitting in the 12th house of the “You Stink” protests chart, I suspected this was stirring for a while, even longer than the month the newscaster had noted. The interception falling in the 2nd and 8th houses showed an approaching Sun-Jupiter conjunction in opposition to Neptune which established a mutable T-square with the transiting 11th house Moon. While group efforts and involvement could be obvious, the Moon was forming an approaching trine to Mars which seemed to say protesters’ intentions were likely to be peaceful. But Mars was in the 7th house, and politicking with this placement just doesn’t seem to me to reflect good will despite an 8th house tightening Sun-Jupiter conjunction.
Fifty-some years ago, a young senator named John F. Kennedy (JFK) was running for the US presidency, and the word “charisma” seemed to epitomize everything anyone ever said about the man who would become the next US President at the time.
Now I’m only mentioning JFK because he’s the only politician I’ve ever heard actually associated with the word “charisma.” But ironically, when I looked at his chart today, I discovered something quite intriguing: His Virgo Moon made an undecaquartisextile to Chiron at 29 Pisces 26–of all things, forming a mere one-minute conjunction to the Solar Eclipse taking place on March 20, 2015!
I also can’t help but notice how we’re in the path of a Chiron return, pointing to that period in history once again. During his time in office, JFK had written to Arab leaders (May 11, 1961) in hopes of creating peace at last in the Middle East while the USA had also seen the rise of Fidel Castro’s regime in Cuba and the stateside battle for civil rights. All three of these–Middle East, Cuba, and Civil Rights–have been in US and world news in the last few years or so. I don’t imagine anyone is really surprised at any of this however.
All that to point to what I see as the validity in the use of the word “charisma” when we are considering Chiron in the chart while noting the relevance of doing so with JFK’s natal Chiron making such a powerful impact in its conjunction to the Solar Eclipse in March this year.
While the Sun-Jupiter conjunction forms an undecaquartisextile to Chiron just within orb, pointing to the possibility of health issues as a result of the piling up trash in the streets, Mercury and Neptune form another undecaquartisextile addressing the need for cooperative relations between local politicians and the people. Growing tensions are obvious and don’t need the Mars-Ascendant undecaquartisextile to see the demands for local politicians to behave responsibly in order to retain citizens’ respect.
I’m Mad As Hell and I’m Not Going to Take It Anymore!
Although the Eastern and Western hemispheres are evenly split, the 3rd quadrant above-the-horizon dominance clearly shows the voices of people as they moved into the streets to protest. Now since I’m sure the “You Stink” protests didn’t actually start at 5 pm on the dot, I’m resisting the urge to point to the square between 3rd house Uranus and the Ascendant even though I have no doubt it was about that time–especially with Uranus sitting in the 3rd house! For me, I suppose it’s pretty much a given.
I wondered whether this was as big a deal as the protest appeared to be. It seemed to escalate out of nowhere. (Okay, so I confess I was planning to look at the Middle East for how recent events I’ve been writing about were fitting in with this area of the world, but I just didn’t expect it this quickly!)
Bringing up the Solar Return, I found the 3rd house rising and then looked to the SR progressions where natal Chiron moved to the progressed IC.
I wondered whether I could see this even more closely with the Lunar Return (LR) and drew that up next.
Pluto in the LR was already making a 9-minute partile conjunction to the natal IC while Uranus was in the 7th. With the charts turned to the LR on the inside, bringing the 8th house to the Ascendant, LR Uranus moved to conjunct the Midheaven (MC) and shifted LR Pluto to the 7th house. Once again, I sensed the sounds of revolution: People’s dissatisfaction must have rumbled locally with much grumbling among them even though the media hadn’t picked up on it yet. Note the below-the-horizon dominance while we see the shift of energy to the 2nd house cusp. People in local neighborhoods were most likely growing increasingly angry and discussed it among themselves.
I suppose the only thing that surprised me about the situation was my learning Hezbollah wasn’t the dominant factor in their government, rather that they were backing the protesters. While one of the activists behind the movement, artist Michel Elefteriades says, “This is not similar to what happened in Egypt or elsewhere where people were manipulated, or without greater political awareness,” Hezbollah’s effort to become involved in the “You Stink” protests drew my attention. But then, Uranus was sitting still on the MC of the progressed LR.
And have you noticed yet that the 4/8/12 complex was showing in the LR while Jupiter prepared to make its own return in the 4th house? I can’t imagine “expansion” being the focus of this LR, but then we’re talking about more space–and if the streets have been piling up with garbage, of course there’d be more space once the garbage was removed! It’s a matter of health and aesthetics, of course, and LR Venus was there–still part of the LR Mercury-Jupiter-Venus stellium–as proof with its 7-minute partile square to the LR Ascendant in addition to its participation in the stellium square to Saturn on the 7th house cusp from the 6th house side.
Most astounding this time, however, was the presence of eight undecaquartisextiles, including 3 to the MC. Now I realize I normally don’t consider the MC when I’m examining undecaquartisextiles; but the progressed LR makes such tight dynamics indicating the accuracy of this chart, and I’m not about to ignore those signs. The quadruple Pisces-Leo undecaquartisextiles offer some clarity in the broader picture through the Moon-Venus 3-minute partile as the tightest point (Moon-Venus, Moon-Jupiter, Mercury-Neptune, Jupiter-Neptune). Here, they focus on the goals and determination for the attention of government officials.
Through the Aquarius-Leo undecaquartisextiles (Jupiter-Neptune, Venus-MC), we see the cause coming to light, while the protest for safety concerns and the plea for politicians to be responsible is revealed through the Mars-Pluto undecaquartisextile in Cancer and Capricorn. The action is shown through the 25-minute partile undecaquartisextile formed by Mars and the Aquarius MC. Here, the protesters seek improvement for the good of all, for the sake of basic human needs.
The progressed LR brought Uranus to the MC at the time the protests began. Here, the Sabian Symbol for ARIES 21 – A BOXER IS ENTERING THE RING – offers the focus of the issue, the protests themselves. Protests need willing bodies to stand up and do so. Uranus on this degree points to the effort to wake up local authorities through an appeal to their consciences.
The “You Stink” protests have risen through a “grassroots movement” Elefteriades said was an effort to collapse the system “in place for decades.” Pluto in Capricorn brings to mind government accountability, a point I noted in writings as far back as 2006. In this case, the garbage disposal problem was borne on the heels of electricity and water shortages.
I admit it: I’m concerned. Hezbollah is too eager to step in to help. At what cost will this effort be for both the Lebanese and the entire region? One can only wonder which government will step in next. Hopefully, the new one will be better not only for the Lebanese but for the entire Middle East region. Lebanon doesn’t need Grover in every garbage pile. It just may be that they need a JFK of their own.
Namaste, I love you.
