A Western 3rd quadrant above-the-horizon dominance welcomes Nancy Pelosi to her return as Speaker of the House, sworn in with “I do” at the precise time of this chart. I’m really not surprised to see Neptune in the 10th with the focus among Democrats in the House to wade through the “muck and mire of the swamp.”
The Sun-Saturn conjunction, while not perfected or even partile as it was just yesterday, is still clearly a part of the dynamic in the 8th house, an interesting view when we consider the news from NPR just minutes before the swearing in: “More troops are expected to be deployed to the southern border to construct or upgrade 160 miles of fencing and provide medical care to a steady stream of migrant families arriving from Central America, according to military sources.”
Jupiter forms a conjunction to the Descendant within 2° and the Moon sits inside the 7th, also in Sagittarius perhaps to reflect the shift of the House to Democratic control with a strong female presence this time around. Mercury rules the chart, indicating the focus on discussion and debate that’s sure to mark this session of the Congress. And with the Venus-Mercury semisextile (1°43 orb) resolving in a Resonant Blooming Undecaquartisextile conjunct the Ascendant at 12 Gemini 09 in a 13-minute partile opposition to Jupiter, this appears to promise to be a truly bilateral House “for the good of all” as its goal. Pluto sits in its own natural zodiacal house.
I’m especially intrigued with the 8th house cusp being the semisquare between the presence of Ceres–a point I might otherwise ignore were this not momentous for the larger population of women in the Congress than ever before as well as Ceres perhaps being significant as the symbolism of a nation as a Motherland–and the Aquarius Midheaven ruled by both the 11th house interception of Uranus Rx in 1°50-square to the Nodes and 8th house Saturn in its conjunction to the Sun.
Uranus is also forming a 24-minute partile semisextile to Chiron also in the 11th house where we look beyond mere hopes and wishes top the focus of teamwork which will be needed in this session, resolving in an intercepted 5th house Resonant Blooming Undecaquartisextile (165°) at 13 Libra 24 in square to the Sun-Saturn conjunction in the 8th. It would seem budget constraints or disagreements might hamper some hopes to achieve more; but with the Sun involved in that square, I wonder whether the constraints and disagreements will be caught in bickering among themselves or what appears more likely to be butting heads with the Oval Office. I vaguely remembered seeing something on that end in The Hill earlier. But I couldn’t find the link now. Lo and behold, I did find it in Politico just now, so I’ll stick with my belief that the Oval Office will be the source of the ulcer and say, no surprise:
“The Shutdown is only because of the 2020 Presidential Election. The Democrats know they can’t win based on all of the achievements of ‘Trump,’ so they are going all out on the desperately needed Wall and Border Security — and Presidential Harassment. For them, strictly politics!” Trump wrote on Twitter,” noted the article in Politico.
When placed against the Powell chart, the coming days for this new session appear even more interesting: Note the out-of-sign conjunction of Venus to Jupiter in Cancer to the 7th house cusp in the Powell chart while the Sun, forming the Venus-Jupiter-Sun stellium, falls inside the 7th. This cross-house conjunction opposes the Sun-Saturn conjunction inside the 1st house of the Powell chart from the swearing in chart. Note, however, that the Sun-Saturn conjunction forms a conjunction to the Powell Moon. This will be a clear test of the presidency, and investigations will continue with a refined and dignified fervor. Powell’s Pluto forms a 51-minute partile conjunction to the current transiting South Node: Justice will be served. Against the Powell chart, the Uranus Rx-Chiron semisextile of the new Congress chart (through the swearing in of Nancy Pelosi) resolves in a Blooming Undecaquartisextile with a 1°19 conjunction to the Powell chart’s 9th house placement of Saturn!
In a conversation John Davenport and I had on December 9, I said, “It looks to me like this will be a bipartisan Congress working together toward ferreting out facts, figures, etc. I’m impressed. When I look at the [noontime] chart [for January 3] against the Powell chart, I’m very impressed, in fact. IMO, this chart is the revolution, and it’s about taking the government back into control. I think they’re going to be looking to make some changes to take advantage of the checks and balances structure of the Constitution. This is a clear sign of what I’m seeing as a likely true bipartisan Congress that needs to happen. I really believe we’re going to see some serious strides in cleaning the deep state swamp there now.”
Look for this to be a memorable session, one that will be a challenge but not without its rewards. Given that this is the largest freshman class of Congress since Watergate, that shouldn’t be particularly surprising at all to anyone. Chiron plays a role in both the Uranus Rx-Chiron focus of the 13 Libra 24 Resonant Blooming Undecaquartisextile I noted above, but it also plays a role in the Venus-Mercury formation of the Resonant Blooming Undecaquartisextile at 12 Gemini 09 since the Chiron-Mercury square establishes a semisquare at 13 Pisces 06, conjunct today’s Neptune, quincunx the Uranus Rx-Chiron formation of the Resonant Blooming Undecaquartisextile at 13 Libra 24 and the Powell chart’s Saturn in the 9th, and forms a 44-minute partile square to the transiting Ascendant…to name a few. But just the presence of Neptune at with the semisquare conjunction Neptune brings the Peeling of Life’s Onion into play since we can see the hard aspect of that swearing-in Neptune forming the quincunx to the Powell chart’s Saturn.
There may be arguments as shown by the 1°12 orb of the opposition between Moon in the swearing-in chart and Mars in the Powell chart’s 6th house; but the Moon sits in Sagittarius where the focus remains on the law, the courts, higher thought and international affairs. The Moon’s antiscion sits in a 6-minute partile conjunction to Saturn’s transit at 11 Capricorn 43. That semisquare also forms a 2-minute partile sextile to the Sun portion of the transiting Sun-Saturn conjunction. It doesn’t hurt to acknowledge this chart being about the nation, the office of the President of the United States and, ultimately, the United States Constitution.
While there’s so little variation between today’s swearing in and the Solar Eclipse taking place on the 5th of January, I’ve posted the triwheel for those interested in seeing the evolution between the three charts. Take note of the eclipse falling in the 8th house, the transiting North Node forming a conjunction to the Powell Mercury Rx (bringing to mind the square from Uranus Rx, which clearly offers that view of the surprises at hand), and the Solar Eclipse New Moon forming a 9-minute partile conjunction to the Powell chart’s Moon! And finally, note the 3rd house 7-minute partile conjunction of the Solar Eclipse Mars conjunct the Powell chart’s TransPluto, momentous in its own right for the allusion to the increase in females in the Congress.
